University of Concepcion
The The XV Chilean Geological Congress (CHGC) will be held at the Main Campus of the University of Concepcion, in Concepcion, Chile, also known as “University Quarter”
The University of Concepcion started its academic activities in 1939 and currently is home to 20.000 students in its three Campuses (Concepción, Chillan and Los Angeles). With an extension of 2.927.647 m2, of which 171.613 m2 are built, the Campus in Concepcion is a center for knowledge, research, culture, science and technology and a must for the people of Concepcion and nearby cities who visit it during weekends and enjoy its activities.

A special note must be made regarding the museums, libraries, gardens, sculptures and squares that decorate the Campus. It is relevant to point out that in 2010 the Executive Secretariat of the Chilean Bicentennial Commission distinguished the Campus as one of the most outstanding infrastructures of the first half of the XX Century in our country.
