Pamela Jara
Geologist and PhD in Geology from the University of Chile.
With more than 10 years of academic experience, Pamela is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Mining Engineering at University of Santiago de Chile. She has been part of the Board of Directors of the SGCh between 2015 and 2021, and has been the coordinator of the Education Group of the same institution.
Her main areas of interest and research are Regional Geology, Andean Tectonics and Structural Geology, using methodologies such as analogue modeling of cortical-scale deformation, linked to processes of basin extension and inversion, and evolution of folded and rift belts.
