AT1-11: Tectonics of the Scotia Arc.

Description: The tectonic evolution of the Scotia Arc and the geological and paleoenvironmental connections that exist between the extreme south of South America and the Antarctic Peninsula have been the subject of scientific debate for decades. Every year the different working groups that study in these remote areas make discoveries that are of great interest to an active geoscientific community of researchers of various nationalities. For this reason, specialists from different disciplines (petrology, mineralogy, volcanology, paleontology, stratigraphy, geophysics, glaciology) are called to contribute, in this session, the preliminary or final results of their work and make known the geological record of the southern hemisphere in the subantarctic and Antarctic regions.
