Description: This session welcomes presentations of recent advances on scientific research on the geology and geophysics of ocean basins, plate margins, continental shelves and coastal areas of South America and Antarctica, with emphasis on the Pacific basin. Topics of special interests include tectonics, volcanism, sediment record and dynamics of sedimentary processes, coastal processes, interaction of continental and oceanic/marine processes, paleoceanography, applied marine geology, geothermal and hydrothermal processes, and marine geological resources.
