Concepcion is a commune and a city in Chile that belongs to the metropolitan area of the Great Concepcion and is the capital of the province of the same name in the Bio Bio Region. It is considered to be the second most important city in Chile and its urban nucleus has a significant impact in the national economy, given that it is part of the most industrialized region of the country.
Located 500 kilometers south of Santiago, the capital of Chile, the access to Concepcion can be by plane (Carriel Sur Airport/CCP) or by car. All of the domestic airlines operate flights to and from Concepcion to different destinations and there is a wide offer of buses.
Concepcion offers a great variety of touristic and recreational activities for its visitors. Among the many options we can highlight a visit to Lota to visit The Mine “El Chiflón del Diablo” and the Cousiño Park. The beaches of Cocholgue, Dichato and Lenga offer a wide variety of fish and seafood. Parque Ecuador, Parque Pedro del Río Zañartu, Penco and Tomé are among many other points of interest.
